Gabriel got some time to roll around a bit before we headed out to the mall on Saturday. This time he chose his Radio Flyer Tricycle to make the rounds around the street. He’s no pedaling at this point. Instead, he does the push/pull thing with his feet.

The legendary creator/artist behind the x-Men and Legion of Super Heroes passes away due to complications from diabetes.
He totally didn’t want to take the picture with Santa. He likes to look from a distance but didn’t even want to get near him. But, as we passed by, there was no one in line so we took a chance and it turned out OK.
We left the house on Saturday with no real plan in mind except to go “somewhere”. Somewhere ended up being a CalTrain ride up to Palo Alto to walk along University Avenue. We had been meaning to take Gabriel on a train ride for quite awhile. After all, we’re fond of the train and it’s good to know how he’d react.
So, we headed out and he seemed to like looking out and seeing the tracks and the various railroad machinery along the way. We ended spending a little over an hour in Palo Alto stopping in various shops and even getting Gabriel an Ice Cream cone at Haagen Dazs. No ice cream- just a cone. He loves those things.
On the way home, we drove through downtown San Jose to see the setup of Christmas in the Park. While no real decorations are in place quite yet, the streets are lit up with the traditional white lights. Gabriel quickly noted that he “sees Christmas”.
Good fun and something we need to do more often for sure.
We hardly knew ‘ya Frank! At least it was a positive all around. The Big Hurt powered the offense all year and lead the charge in August and early September that saw the A’s grab a hold of the division. He also put a charge into the playoffs with 2 HRs in Game 1 versus the Twins. He’s off to Toronto where he’s being paid very well. Now it’s time to see who comes on board to DH - Burrell? Dunn? Nomar? Bonds?
A smile, some milk, a toy and a snazzy warm sweatshirt topped off with hanging out with family. Doesn’t get much better does it
I’m not sure what they sell or offer but apparently there’s plenty of it
This is just down the street from our parent’s homes. We always pass it and never seem to be in a spot to get a good shot. Gloria was able to score this one as we drove by the other night.

The question will be if he manages to stay on until the new ballpark is ready.

Rock, rock the planet rock!
Headed to Santana Row - home of upscale shopping and living neither of which we can afford - last night for their annual Tree Lighting ceremony. Gabriel enjoyed seeing “Christmas” everywhere. Still not too fond of the characters but he did shake hands with a Santa looking fellow on stilts. Maybe we’ll actually get a picture with Santa this year.
