It’s all but official – the A’s will be moving to Fremont – just a short drive down the 880. I’m sure the A’s and MLB will have the full story next Tuesday when they make the announcement but it looks to be an exciting time for A’s fans everywhere. The target date appears to be 2010.

What do these two items in the picture have in common? Both will be offered as “Retro” models at the new stadium. Zito’s all but gone and Oakland will fall in line along with Philly and Kansas City as part of the rich history of the franchise.

CARS DVD and 4 Car Gift Set

Got this at Best Buy today. They had the free Lenticular poster along with purchase. It was $30 but had suggested retail of $40. Not sure where they get that price. I saw that Wal-Mart had a double pack but the second DVD included content that was part of the CARS podcasts freely available on iTunes. Can’t go wrong with a poster and toys! We’ll be watching this one early and often I’m sure.

  Good news for the A’s franchise and the fanbase as well. The move down 880 places it just a slight drive out of Santa Clara County and smack dab in the middle of Silicon Valley.
