It starts here.
I’m a husband first and foremost. I adore her to no end. Without her, there is no “me”. So, it’s a look back as I begin this 52 week project as well as a look ahead. It’s truly going to be a terrific and wonderful year for us. Hopefully, I’ll be able to document this through this humble project.
The photo within the photo is one of our engagement photos. It was taken at the now named “Kirk Douglas Theatre” in Culver City, CA. At the time, it was about to begin renovations. The classic ticket booth called to us as we drove down Washington Blvd towards the Sony Studios.
Looking at that image, it’s neat to imagine back to who we were at that time. We were just months away from being married. Our worries revolved more around seating arrangements, invitations and honeymoon plans. Today, we are waiting on the birth of our second son.

Holy crap! I live three blocks away from the Kirk Douglas Theatre.

Never realized the proximity. I know it’s a few miles from Jairo’s place. The theatre was pretty worn down at the time but the ticket booth stood out. Maybe more so due to condition of the exterior. Seriously one of my favorite pictures ever. We’ll have to head back soon with the boys.
