This is Joshua pretty much all the time. He recently fought off a bit of a cold that had him a bit on the down side. Totally tweaked his sleeping and eating habits but he’s back as of late last week. Sleeping through the night again and waking up ready to drink down a bottle of formula. Best part is that he is his joyful self. As we quickly approach the 9 month mark he is crawling, lifting himself up to the furniture and can get around quite well but still prefers hanging out in Mom and Dad’s arms.
Gabriel is a HUGE Mario fan. No doubt. He’s down with other characters but nothing has captured his imagination like Mario. If it’s not the games it is the TV show, the DVDs, the toys, the stickers, the posters, the shirts, the backpacks and whatever else pops up.
Some might argue that a fixation might be a bad thing or hinder growth in some way but we do our best to meter the exposure. We even go to lengths to turn it all into a learning experience. From Mario we have led Gabriel to learn about colors, numbers as well as exposed him to reading. Yes you can learn from these things. You can learn from anything if you put your mind to it.
I’m sure when he looks back on these shots Mario might be a fond memory but we’ll be sure to remind him of how it was. The dedication to being a fan of Mario and Nintendo will be a good memory for our family.
He’s a bit over 7 months. Can sit up pretty well. Rolls over like crazy. No teeth yet. He officially has his first word “Mama” or “Mom” in heavy rotation.

I make take this offline once it reaches it’s intended target. Maybe not.

You know who you are…
Think you are playing a game where you are the only one holding the pieces… hah!
Think you can get up and over via putting others down…
How long can you play both sides of the fence and not think you’ll be revealed. Everyone knows. Simple as that.
Hiding behind others only shows your weakness and there’s plenty of it.
A true leader is on the front line bringing others along not afraid of what may come.
A leader does not lay back and look for moments of weakness to act and create the impression of true action.
Those with true talent, skill, determination and a clear conscience will be the winners in the end. Short term gains may be had giving the impression of a false gains. Those who try to play the system will get caught. It’s a matter of time.
Did I mention your weakness? If not… you are. No doubt.
I challenge you to play it straight. Come forward with your real agenda. Share it. What is there to be afraid of?
Getting others to “join the team”… weak sauce. Especially when they would be the water boy on any other team.
How can I throw stones? I and those affected are not afraid nor worried. We can hang and then some. We have support from all sides. Best of all, what you see is what you get. We don’t hide behind a veil of any kind. We can wake each day knowing we are on the right path. We don’t have to tell ourselves any lies to make ourselves go.
You don’t even know. We will come out on top. Not even worried about.
Laughing…at more than one thing.

Two guys at the ballyard
A Sunday afternoon spent at the Coliseum with the entire family. We headed out early to score the Back to School backpacks. Joshua got one as expected even without a paying ticket (take that Angels!). We arrived early enough to see the tail end of batting practice and score a few autographs on official MLB balls no less. The game itself was nothing to remember except for Aaron Cunningham getting his first two MLB hits and RBIs. The game was capped with us getting a chance to round the bases with the boys.
Gio became an instant favorite for us today. We arrived before noon and saw he was signing out by the bullpen. Not too many people around so I got a baseball and headed out with Gabriel. We got in line and waited as Gio signed for all who were there. After a few minutes a few older kids pushed up and snuck ahead of Gabriel. I called to them to not cut ahead of the little kids and told Gabriel to be sure to place the ball out where Gio could see it. Gio heard me and asked which one was mine. I pointed to Gabriel and he signed his ball right away. First class and he’s made a fan for life.
